The Carousel in the Winter Riding School on 23 November 1814, engraved etching, coloured
After lengthy preparations and much expenditure, the elaborately mounted carousel took place in the Winter Riding School on 23 November 1814. The ‘Turks’ heads’ that the riders had to impale can be seen on the floor and walls of the arena.
