Caricature: 'The last moment of the Democratic Women's Union in 1848', coloured lithograph, 1848

This erotic caricature depicts the 'dissolution' of the Democratic Women's Union. Its brief existence – it was founded on 28 August 1848 and dissolved at the end of the revolution – was the subject of mocking caricatures. Its president, Baroness Karoline von Perin, was arrested at the beginning of November 1848.
