“We put the stamp on Austria”

a good slogan for the Münze Österreich, the Austrian Mint. It is situated in the heart of Vienna and can now look back on more than 800 years of history.

This is where all Austrian euros and cent coins are minted, regardless of whether they are intended for shopping, investments or collecting.  Prior to the euro, schillings and groschen – “groats” – were minted here and even earlier – in the time of the monarchy – coins minted here bore the names Krone – crown – Gulden – florins – and ducats.
