*Privilegium maius*, dated 1156, forgery from 1358/59

Also known as the ‘Grosser Freiheitsbrief’ (‘Great Charter of Freedom’), this document is a forgery commissioned by Duke Rudolf IV that was intended to secure certain privileged rights for Austria and its rulers within the Holy Roman Empire, including the right to bear the title of Archduke of Austria.
