Johann Ulrich Kraus (after Petrus Schubart von Ehrenberg): Allegory on the Holy Roman Empire, copperplate engraving, 1700

Executed to mark the 900th centenary of the Empire in 1700, this engraving shows Emperor Leopold I with his wife on a triumphal arch surrounded by the statues and busts of 49 rulers of the Empire from Charlemagne to Ferdinand IV.
