Hyacinth Rigaud: Prince Joseph Wenzel of Liechtenstein, painting, 1740
A high-ranking officer, Prince Joseph Wenzel (1696-1772) reformed the imperial army during the reign of Maria Theresa. As a mark of the highest honour, he was entrusted with the task of escorting Isabella of Parma, bride of Joseph II, to Vienna.
