Giacomo Casanova

A native of Venice, Giacomo Casanova was a writer, Mason, well-travelled adventurer, bon vivant and welcome guest in the salons of the nobility. Today he is famous for his numerous affairs – recounted in his memoirs entitled Histoire de ma vie – and for escaping from the notorious lead chambers of Venice, where he had been incarcerated for blasphemy.
